It’s not artificial intelligence. It’s not business intelligence. It’s certainly not unplugged humans.
Your intellectual capital is every form of intelligence in your organization, working as one.
House of intelligenceIntelligence becomes true equity when it’s holistic: business intelligence that brings clarity in context, artificial intelligence with the transformative power to build the new world, and human intelligence that gives it purpose.
A power without precedent: tireless, faster than thought. On its own, it rarely builds anything lasting. Guided by human purpose and judgment, it can amplify what people can do.
Somewhere deep in your data, a truth is waiting in quiet patterns lost in the noise. With human judgment and machine together, the past can begin to reveal the future.
Every organization has a soul: people who hope, doubt and still show up. As machines take on productivity, the greater prize may be work that truly fulfills the people who do it.

How AI enabled a human-first consultative selling advantage at Bass Pro
Bass Pro's strongest associates, a small core of its most experienced sellers, carried years of product nuance, situational awareness and persuasive storytelling in their heads. That expertise was real competitive advantage, but it had never been digitized. No dashboard or data point had ever captured why a boat sells or why it doesn't. It was locked inside human intelligence: informal, inconsistent and impossible to scale.
In partnership with Microsoft, and working with the CTO and leadership team, I shaped a five-year AI roadmap and picked the first move: a generative AI and human sales model for White River Marine Group, Bass Pro's boat business. We treated it as a product design challenge. We built a structured Response Quality Score — rating clarity, contextual accuracy, persuasion strength and consultative effectiveness from 0 to 100 — used AI to capture top associates' tribal knowledge and turn it into an intelligence layer the whole business could use, and launched an in-store AI companion for sales reps in three months. The AI didn't replace the seller; it made every rep better in the moment.
19 → 83
Baseline response quality was 19 out of 100. Once the tribal knowledge was captured and productized, it rose to 83 — the measure of the advantage, and proof that the captured expertise made the difference. The companion went live as a pilot in 14 stores, used with customers and as a training tool. For the first time, the subtleties that win a sale became business intelligence the organization could use.
“In business, only cumulative advantages are sustainable. This AI tool integrates our data and collective expertise into a system that grows smarter every day—strengthening the customer experience and deepening long-term engagement.”
The knowledge that wins a consultative sale isn't in any database or data lake — it's in people's heads. Extract it and structure it, and the advantage becomes measurable. The breakthrough wasn't better prompts. It was productizing human expertise.
